The City of Calgary is hosting a girls-only workshop in the name of enabling healthy lifestyle choices and encouraging positive self-esteem.

?It?s critical that girls participate in physical activities during the critical teen developmental years,? says Michelle Tait, Recreation Supervisor at Village Square Leisure Centre.

For over a decade, The City has been offering Go Girl - a one day workshop for girls aged 10-16 years old as a way to boost confidence, get girls to explore their creative side and assist them in making healthy, active recreational choices for life.

During the workshop girls get an opportunity to participate in a variety of sport, dance, wellness and arts. ?Girls can try activities including Zumba, self defence, rock climbing, hip hop and yoga in a safe and supportive girls-only environment.
